Anti-corruption campaign in medical sector

Chinese authorities have launched an anti-graft campaign in the medical field, with the objective of fostering an atmosphere of honesty and integrity in this sector across the country.

近日，中国医疗领域发起了一场反腐行动，以期在全国范围内营造诚实公正的医药市场环境。

Jointly initiated by the National Health Commission (NHC) and nine other departments in July, the year-long campaign aims to rectify prominent malpractices such as using power to seek rent, accepting kickbacks and bribery, according to the NHC.

据国家卫生健康委员会消息，今年7月，国家卫健委会同9个部门共同启动了为期一年的反腐运动，旨在整治行业重点领域的不正之风，如利用权力寻租、大肆收受回扣、行贿受贿等。

The anti-corruption drive will focus on individuals working in key positions in the medical sector, who have violated relevant rules and laws, the NHC said.

国家卫健委表示，反腐工作将聚焦违反相关法规和法律的医疗领域关键岗位。

The World Robot Conference 2023 (WRC 2023) kicked off in Beijing on Wednesday, showcasing about 600 cutting-edge robot exhibits impacting our daily life.

The death toll in the Maui wildfires is now 110, Hawaii Gov. Josh Green said at a Wednesday news conference where officials faced often heated questions about the county’s actions as wildfire swept across the island last week, sending people scrambling for safety.

An employee at the British Museum has been dismissed—and the Metropolitan Police has launched an investigation—after a number of items from the museum’s collection were found to be”missing, stolen or damaged,” the museum said in a statement Wednesday.
