大家知道“跨年”用英语怎么说吗？让我们一起来学学吧！

1. Spend the New Year's Eve

最为简单直白的表达，就是“spend the New Year's Eve”。

“Eve”的英文释义为“the period or day before an important event”，而跨年夜就是元旦（New Year's Day）前夕，故称之New Year's Eve。

ps.这里的新年不同于我国的农历新年，跨年夜也不同于除夕，因此若要表达除夕夜，最好用“Chinese New Year's Eve”。

2. Do the countdown to the new year

这种表达与跨年夜的传统有关。由于跨年活动的最高潮就是在11:59进行的倒计时，因此也被称为“跨年倒数”，也就是“the countdown to the new year”。

如果想表达跨年这一动作，只要在前面加上“do”就好啦。

3. Ring in the new year/ usher in the new year

这种表达与跨年的意义有关。跨年顾名思义就是跨过旧年、迎接新年，因此凡是关于“迎接新年”的表达都可以用来表示跨年。

以下是两个比较地道的动词词组：

ring in: to celebrate the beginning of something

例句：

Let's ring out the old year and ring in the new.

让我们伴着钟声辞旧迎新。

此处“ring out”是指“to accompany the departure of something with bells”，有“鸣钟送旧”之意。

usher in: to mark or observe the beginning of something

例句：

The New Year's bell will soon toll to usher in the year 2024.

2024年的新年钟声即将敲响。

当然，还可以用最常见的表示“欢迎、迎接”的动词，比如“welcome”“greet”等。
