China's GDP grew by 4.8 percent, reaching 94.97 trillion yuan ($13.33 trillion), in the first three quarters of 2024, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics(NBS) on Friday.

10月18日，国家统计局发布数据显示，初步核算，今年前三季度国内生产总值94.97万亿元，同比增长4.8%。

In the third quarter, GDP grew by 4.6 percent year-on-year, slightly down from the 4.7 percent growth recorded in the second quarter, but 0.1 percentage point higher than some foreign media's projection.

三季度GDP增长4.6%，增速较二季度回落0.1个百分点，但比一些外媒预期高0.1个百分点。

Analysts anticipate that the strong policy measures introduced by the government so far this year, along with expectations for additional stimulus initiatives, will provide additional momentum for the country's economic development.

分析人士认为，今年为止国家出台的强有力的政策措施，以及即将出台的刺激措施，有望为国家的经济发展带来更强进的势头。

The 4.8 percent GDP growth in the first nine months shows that economic growth is stable and that economic activities in the third quarter have been keeping pace, analysts said.

The 6th World Media Summit opened on Monday morning in Urumqi, capital city of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Themed "Artificial Intelligence and Media Transformation," the summit gathered over 500 participants from 106 countries and regions, including representatives of 208 mainstream media outlets, government agencies and international organizations.

SpaceX completed its fifth test flight of its giant Starship rocket on Sunday, achieving the return of its booster back on the launch pad.

当地时间13日，美国太空探索技术公司（SpaceX）实施了“星舰”火箭的第五次试飞，首次在发射塔上成功捕获助推器以实现回收。

The rocket's "Super Heavy" booster returned to land several minutes after launch. The company used the arms of its launch tower to catch the booster, a major milestone toward SpaceX's goal of making Starship a fully reusable rocket system.

At 8:25 am Eastern time, the rocket, nearly 400 feet tall, lifted off from the SpaceX launch site near Brownsville, Texas. The upper-stage Starship vehicle, stacked on top of the first stage, known as the Super Heavy booster, will be capable of carrying more than 100 metric tons to orbit.

China’s major e-commerce platform JD.com on Wednesday refuted defamatory rumors about the personal lives of its founder Liu Qiangdong and his wife Zhang Zetian. The couple have filed a police report, and the case is currently under investigation, according to a statement released by the company’s official Weibo account on Wednesday.

中国知名电商平台京东于10月16日驳斥了针对创始人刘强东及其妻子章泽天个人生活的恶意抹黑谣言。根据公司官方微博发布的声明，刘强东章泽天夫妇已向公安机关报案，警方已受理该案且正在侦办中。

The statement refuted the rumor about Zhang’s alleged involvement with the “Illuminati,” saying that a number of organized accounts have been actively spreading these false claims and fabricating tens of thousands of fake information online in a short period.

声明驳斥了关于章泽天涉嫌与“光明会”有关的谣言，大量水军账号有组织地大肆散布、传播上述谣言，短时间内炮制出上万条谣言信息。

Zhang’s stylist has also publicly refuted the rumor, according to the statement.
