Paetongtarn Shinawatra, a candidate backed by Thailand's Pheu Thai-led coalition, was elected as the country's new prime minister on Friday after winning a simple majority in a parliamentary vote.

为泰党提名的总理候选人佩通坦·钦那瓦在8月16日举行的下议院特别会议投票中获得过半数议员支持，当选新一任泰国总理。

 

Paetongtarn was the only candidate nominated to be the new prime minister during the parliamentary vote, which came following a court-ruled dismissal of then Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin in an ethics violation case earlier this week.

佩通坦是在议会投票中唯一获得提名的总理候选人。本周初，泰国法院裁定时任总理赛塔·他威信违宪，并解除其职务。

 

President of the National Assembly Wan Muhamad Noor Matha announced that Paetongtarn received 319 votes of support out of the current 493 legislators, more than the simple majority required for approval.

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced Wednesday that he will not run in the presidential election of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) next month, in a countdown to his three-year term.

日本首相岸田文雄8月14日宣布，在其三年任期进入倒计时之际，他将不会参加于9月举行的执政党自民党总裁选举。

The nation is expected to see a new prime minister this fall following the announcement by Kishida, perplexed by mounting criticism over the LDP slush fund scandal and diving approval ratings for his cabinet.

岸田文雄因自民党“黑金”丑闻的批评之声高涨和内阁支持率大幅下降而陷入困局，在其宣布辞职之后，预计日本将在今年秋天迎来一位新首相。

Marriage registration to be easier, more flexible in China

Marriage registration in China is expected to require fewer documents and offer more flexibility in registration locations, according to a new draft revision.

近日公布的一项修订草案取消了婚姻登记的地域管辖限制，让结婚登记手续变得更加简便快捷。

Under the new draft, mainland couples will only need their identification cards and a signed declaration stating that they are not currently married and have no blood relationship within three generations with the other party to register their marriage.

按照修订草案，办理结婚登记的内地居民只需出具本人的居民身份证，并签署本人无配偶以及与对方当事人没有直系血亲和三代以内旁系血亲关系的声明。

Currently, individuals also need to bring their resident household registration books for marriage registration.

目前，办理婚姻登记仍需提供户口簿。

This will be the first revision to the marriage registration ordinance since it was enacted in 2003. The public is invited to offer their opinions on the draft via the Ministry of Civil Affairs' official website, email, or by mail until Sept. 11.   

这是现行《婚姻登记条例》2003年正式施行以来的首次修改。日前，民政部在其官网公布了该草案，征求社会各界意见。意见反馈截止时间为2024年9月11日。

A significant leak of 25 tonnes of radioactive water has been detected within the spent nuclear fuel cooling pool of Reactor Unit 2 at the Tokyo Electric Power Company's(TEPCO) Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in Okuma, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan, China Media Group (CMG) reported on Tuesday.

据总台报道，当地时间8月13日，位于日本福岛县大隈的东京电力公司福岛第一核电站2号机组的核燃料残渣冷却池的相关设施中，发现有25吨含放射性物质的水发生泄漏。

The utility company has assured the public that the nuclear-contaminated water has not breached the plant's containment and that the cooling system for the nuclear fuel remains operational.

To ascertain the precise location of the leak and its underlying cause, TEPCO plans to deploy robotic equipment for an inspection scheduled for this week.
